Mahalo expert chef Tristan Blash explains how to make bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of seasoning salt
- 1/4 tsp of cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp of dry oregano
Equipment
- Baking dish
- Toothpicks
- Instant thermometer
Step 1: Preparing the Tenderloin
- Preheat the oven to 375º Fahrenheit.
- Sprinkle all of the seasonings on the tenderloin. Be sure to roll the pork around in the seasonings so it's covered.
- Wrap the bacon around the tenderloin, covering as much of the meat as you can. You can also use toothpicks to pin down the bacon so it doesn't move when cooking.
- Use a tablespoon of the olive oil and drizzle it over the bacon.
Step 2: Cooking the Meat
- Put the bacon-wrapped tenderloin in a baking dish and place into the over for 45 to 50 minutes. All ovens are different so be sure to check the tenderloin regularly so make sure it doesn't overcook.
- Check with an instant thermometer. The temperature of the tenderloin should read 155º Fahrenheit.
- Take the tenderloin out of the oven and cover it with foil for about 10 minutes to let it cool off.
- Take the tenderloin to the cutting board and cut it into slices gently to keep the bacon wrapped around the sides.
